Your therapy sessions are private and confidential. What we discuss during our sessions is considered “privileged” information and protected under the law.

Your information will not be disclosed to anyone without written permission.

However, the law has certain exceptional situations that are not considered “privileged” and may be shared with the proper authorities to ensure the safety of oneself or others. Some exceptions include:

  • Suspected abuse of a child or dependent adult/elder.
  • Threats of serious bodily harm are made towards one or more persons.
  • Threats of serious bodily harm are made towards oneself and all options are exhausted to ensure client safety with his or her cooperation.
